Together Again

We all made it to NY safe and sound. Gary and the dogs adventure across the country went well a little exhausting but relatively smooth sailing. Ellie and I had good travels as well. We had a big hike through the Detroit airport to our connecting flight. It snowed the night before Ellie and I arrived so we were happy to see a beautiful white winter landscape as we landed.

The Spaziani Christmas Eve party was early this year and we were so glad to be able to go. Kim and Donna and their family always put on a good party. Ellie had a good time running through the house trying not to make eye contact with anyone.

Today we geared up in all our winter attire and went to round up a Christmas tree. We were successful and it was so nice to go out and enjoy all the fresh snow. There were many trees to choose from, the Marcoccia’s have a special spot where there are many overgrown Christmas trees in need of a good warm home.  We will be putting it up this Tuesday after it has a chance to thaw and dry off a bit.

Fun with Grandma

Grandma McKenney did my hair this morning… Do you like it? Might have her do it again for my reunion with Daddy.

Halloween

We spent Halloween up North this year. Decided to trick-or-treat with Grandma and Grandpa McKenney. Ellie was happy to morph into the Butterfly again. I think she was starting to enjoy all the accolaids and such. She is pretty irresistable in that get up.

We gathered with the cousins at Great Grandma and pa Jacksons and Aunt Gay’s so we could check out the Vampire, Pirate, Cowboy, and Little Chick. Then we paraded through Aunt Lauries office. We had a lot of fun with the family and even though Grandma and Grandpa only had three groups of Trick-or-Treaters show up it was more than what we would have seen in Timberlakes unless you count the Deer eating our pumpkins.

October Break

Last weekend Ellie and I went up to my parents to enjoy Grandma McKenney’s days off with her. We shopped for a winter coat, got a Halloween costume, picked out pumpkins, played with Summer, and made some yummy treats. The treats included Caramel Apples, Candy Apples, and Stuffed Pumpkin with Cranberry-Rasin Bread Pudding. We had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa McKenney, they always spoil us.

Reunited!!!!

She’s back…. Our crazy white dog decided it was time to come home today. We spent the weekend at my parents, and when we turned into our driveway I saw something on our porch. I took a closer look and said “She’s Here!!” Gary gasped and couldn’t believe it. It was a sweet reunion for everyone. She is filthy dirty and a little bit skinnier but still the mysterious white dog that is Adah. What I wouldn’t give to be able to talk to her and find out just what in the world she was up to for almost 10 days. I wonder how far she traveled? If she heard us calling after her? What compelled her to take off in the first place? Was she really lost or just on walkabout? Did she get it out of her system? Was it as difficult a week for her as it was for us?  Who knows she is just a dog after all. We are glad to have her back though there was a definite void in the Marcoccia household last week. Thank you for mixing all of those good thoughts and well wishes into the cosmic soup on behalf of Adah and our broken hearts.

This is where it all started

Actually it started the season before (I know they spelled my name wrong). We were working as bartenders in different lodges in Alta. I was at the Goldminer’s Daughter and Gary worked at the Peruvian. As you can see from his pass Gary had been in Alta for a few years (1998) I spent a season up there in 1997 and to make a long story short we had a mutual friend (Johnny B) who thought we would be good for each other. You see my aunt Laurel had given me tickets to a film festival. I ran into Johnny and figured he was harmless because he had a girlfriend at the time who was in Spain so I asked him if he wanted to go with me and he turned me down saying that I should ask Gary that he would really like to go with me. So I took Johnny’s advise and asked Gary to join me and the rest is history. Johnny is still proud to this day that he was such a successful match maker. I always remind him that we owe it all to him.

We celebrated our 5th anniversary on Saturday. We spent our first night without the wee one and ventured north to Lava Hot Springs. Turns out Ellie had a better time walking and talking with Grandpa and Grandma McKenney. Our experience in Lava well… lets just say we wont be going back and yuck pretty much sums it up. We tried to make the best of it.

Back to the important stuff though, Gary and I have had 5 years of joy, love, tears, laughter, stress, companionship, and all that makes up a good marriage. Over the last 5 years we have lived near the mouth of Little Cottonwood in Sandy, at the Entrada Ranch outside of Moab, in the “Slanty Shanty” in old town Park City, and now here in our little cabin in Timberlakes. We have had some good times and some hard times in all those places. I am looking forward to what lies a head of us and the many more adventures we are going to have together.
