Ellie has Allergies….
This is how we feel about it…

But we are dealing with it.
Poor Girl

On the bright side, we had another beautiful sunset
Gary took the pics this time

We love our camera.
On a side note, I met up with a long lost good friend from High School and beyond today, Angie Hamond and her three cute kids. Turns out we don’t live very far from each other. Unfortunately I forgot my camera 🙁 We had a good visit though Ellie took to her little girl Brooke and they had a hug fest at the end of the visit. It was pretty cute. Anyways thanks Angie and hopefully we can get together again soon Husbands and all.

Cascade Springs and Park Silly

Not too much to blab about this week. We kept a low profile. Once the weekend hit we were up for some adventure. On Saturday we took a drive to Cascade Springs and looped through Sundance and back to Heber with a short stop for some gelato yum.

On Sunday we went to the Park Silly Sunday Market. This little street market was started last year and organized by some PC locals. They had to put up a bit of a fight to keep it going but I think it is fabulous and a great way to spend a day. There are all kinds of local artisans who are selling their craft, good food, excellent music, and general silliness. Last week there was a band of local youngsters (maybe 14 or 15 years old) who were rocking out playing Blondie, Led Zeplin, and some other classics. We were impressed to say the least wish I would have caught a little clip for you all. This week we were entertained by some good old fashion country cloggers who shuffled away to another young one singing Jonny Cash.

Jodi and Sarah got a little silly themselves and decided to try on some classic PC Main Street apparel. I love these pics…

Antelope Island

I have been wanting to check out Antelope Island for a while now. I thought it’s silly to have lived in Utah all my life and not have ever stood on the shores of the GSL for a day. So we asked our friends Jodi and KC to join us for a one day vacation if you will and that is exactly what it felt like. Antelope Island was a pleasant surprise with a beautiful sandy beach, wildlife, and a historic ranch. We ate lunch at the beach then walked down to the waters where we checked out the beach rocks. Gary even splashed around a bit in the salty water. After sometime at the beach we ventured out to try to find some Buffalo. We were able to see two beauties lounging in the grass near the northeast shore. We traveled a few more miles down the road to a historic Fielding Garr Ranch where they were hosting some cowboy poets and singers. We listened to a few poems and wandered about the property stopping to say hello to the horses and take a break in the grass. On our way back to the “mainland” across the causeway the lake, mountains, and sky decided to come together for some beautiful views. The mountains and clouds were mirrored in the lake and we stopped a couple of times to take in the view. Our parting thoughts were what a crazy thing to have so close to us and never explored before. It was a nice little escape for a day.

SLC 5K Race Day

We did it! Gary, Ellen, and I ran the Salt Lake City 5K today. We woke up in the early wee hours this morning to be on time for the 7:30am start time. We met up with Brigitte, Roxanne, Charie, and the lovely Davis sisters (Charie and Rox’s Mom and Aunts) just in time to have a quick chat and good luck pep talk and then it was off to the races. Ellie was all decked out in the trusty B.O.B jogging stroller. She was a little unsure about being in a crowd of people and the crowded shuttle ride to the start line was uncomfortable for us all to say the least. But once we got going and found our pace she seemed to enjoy the ride. She was talking our ears off the whole way. I’ve never participated in a organized sporting event like that and I must say I really enjoyed myself. I think the energy of the crowd helped give me and extra boost because I felt great the whole run no stopping necessary except once to help Ellie get the bunches out of her jacket. We finished just under 40 minutes. I think we did pretty well considering our lack of discipline on the training, pushing a stroller, and having to start in the way back thus causing a few traffic jams and hang ups.

The best part of the whole event was having my husband and baby by my side and reuniting with some good friends. Gary was a good sport all day. He is not a fan of big crowds and he dealt with it well all day. Gary and Roxanne’s husband Ryan were also very good to patiently wait for us and watch over the kiddos while all the ladies gabbed and laughed about the good old times we shared in the various houses we rented in college together. I had not seen Charie since our wedding and I can’t remember the last time Roxanne and I got together. All the ladies got together the afternoon before race day for some catching up. Another good friend Sara came down to join us for dinner. With a group of 9 adults and 7 children ( 4 months, 8 months, 1 yr old twins, another 1 yr old, 2 yr old, and a 4 yr old I think I have it right?). It was a symphony of baby cries, grunts, screams, coos, and gabbing ladies. CRaZy to say the least but oh so much fun. I have truly missed having these ladies in my life and am so grateful that we have rekindled our friendships through our blogs. So glad I got to talk, laugh, run, and just be with you all the last two days. Thank you and I love you girls!

Well Hello Neighbor

Just about a year ago we met our neighbors the Cacace’s. Upon meeting them we found that we had so much in common. Kim was in her first trimester of pregnancy as well. We were so excited for each other and so, a friendship developed and the neighborhood stroll began. We started out strolling about with our big bellies and dogs in tow. Kim has two dogs as well Moki and Montana. Montana and Adah have become bosom buddies as well. They get so excited to see each other and romp around.

Over the summer we would meet up on walks and compare bellies, aches, pains, cravings, feelings, and doctor visits. In the fall once the “wee ones” were here we would meet up for the ultimate stroll, pushing our babes on a three mile loop over the hills and through the rocks and mud. I’m sure it was a bit comical if someone came across us. Just picture two ladies yakking away with two strollers holding two babies either sleeping, crying, or getting jostled about, four dogs being corralled and yelled at every 5 to 10 minutes (mostly Adah), all while attempting to keep Timberlakes roads safe by telling yelling at every big truck or speeding neighbor to SLOW DOWN! Yep, that’s us the crazy mommas with the crazy dogs patrolling the roads. Once the snow started pilling up our walks were sidelined a bit but now that the sun is making a come back and all that snow is starting to melt we can’t be faded. So look out all you cabin building contractors and speedy neighbors the mommas and crazy dogs are on the lose again. The mud isn’t going to keep us down Kim has a back pack and I have my trusty jogger stroller and with some momma strength and determination we will power through the thickest snow and mud.

I feel very lucky to have found a friend to share this chapter of life with. We have definitely bonded and it is so great to have some friends that are in step with me and Ellie. So thank you Kim for the listening ear, encouragement, and support. The sun is shinning it’s going to be a beautiful day and I’m looking forward to our walk this afternoon.
